Television: HGTV's "Curb Appeal" episode CRB-2106

After completely renovating a Dutch Colonial cottage, the clients asked for a low-maintenance landscape to help give privacy and frame the home. We mixed roses, fountain grass, catnip, and gooseneck, with an evergreen "structure" of Portuguese laurel and American Holly with accents of liriope near the sidewalk.  At the clients request we incorporated their prized purple Japanese maple, which they'd taken along with them on a number of moves.  The purple in the maple's leaves helped set the color palette of bronzes, pinks, and silvers. A new purple-leaved redbud (Cercis 'Forest Pansy') complimented the existing maple while pale pink Rosa 'Blushing Knockout' brought out the warm cream tones in the new limestone stoop and retaining walls.  Nepeta 'Six Hills Giant' and Daylily 'Cloak And Dagger' added many months of care-free blooms.
